Reading: The Alchemist

Reading The Alchemist, I guess a little bit late to the game on this bestseller, by Paulo Coelho. But it's fantastic. All about finding one's true path, and the journey to it, and the journey that IS the path. Ahem.

Finished: Looking for Mr. Goodfrog

Just finished Looking for Mr. Goodfrog by Laurie Graff, it was very good, chicklit for the 40-yr. set, would recommend.

Reading: Straight Up & Dirty

Just finished Stephanie Klein's debut novel, Straight Up and Dirty. Much of it rubbed me the wrong way, not sure if I identified with her TOO much to the point where I was annoyed by the stuff I see in myself, or if I was just annoyed. She's not a modest girl, but I guess if you're going to write a memoir by the time you're 30 you really can't be. Anyway, I'd be interested in what other people think, let me know if you read it.

Freaks, Geeks & Strange Girls

I bought Freaks, Geeks & Strange Girls for a friend of mine a few years ago, I thought it was so unusual, and the graphics were awesome, thought it would be a really offbeat gift, for my wonderful offbeat friend.

I just saw the book in a scene in Sex and the City. So much for out of the mainstream. Does anyone know where to get any true vintage pulp?

Finished: Everyone Worth Knowing

Just finished Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger, it was great, not as good as Devil Wears Prada, but good. Going to try to go see the movie this weekend if I can get my arse up off the couch. I'm in the middle of going through ALL my paintings and drawings, some are going to consignment, some we'll hang here, some to the attic, and some straight to the trash. I just can't fathom a reason to hold on to some of this stuff anymore. I have paintings of unicorns and spaceships from when I was in elementary school. My mother didn't even want to keep it anymore, so why would I?

Reading

A friend of mine gave me a *very* early Christmas present as a result of all my cleaning and purging over the last couple weeks. I'm in LOVE with the book, and have been reading it only one section at a time so as to keep it going a little longer. Anything in this genre is totally an addiction for me, if you have any suggestions, please leave them for me! Where Women Create

Reading: Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife

Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife, by Linda Berdoll

Only recently discovered Pride & Prejudice, I'm following it up with this. It's very porn-y. So far so good.
